How we use cookies and similar technologies on our website

Last updated: 26 April 2026Effective: 26 April 2026

1. What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files that are placed on your device (computer, smartphone, or tablet) when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work more efficiently and to provide information to website owners.

2. How We Use Cookies

Alidotronics Technologies uses a minimal number of cookies. We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies. The cookies we use fall into the following categories:

  • Strictly Necessary Cookies — Required for the website to function. These cannot be disabled. They include session security cookies and CSRF tokens.
  • Functional / Preference Cookies — Remember your preferences such as dark/light mode and cookie consent choices. Stored in localStorage (not sent to our servers).
  • Analytics Cookies — Only if you have consented. We currently do not use third-party analytics; future implementation would use a privacy-first tool (e.g., Plausible) that does not set tracking cookies.

3. Specific Cookies We Set

The following cookies/storage keys are used on our website:

  • alidotronics-cookie-consent — localStorage key storing your cookie consent preference (accepted / rejected / pending). Not a server-side cookie.
  • theme — localStorage key set by next-themes to remember your colour scheme preference (dark/light/system).

No cookies are sent to third-party advertising networks, social media platforms, or data brokers.

4. Third-Party Cookies

We currently do not embed third-party content (such as Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, YouTube, or advertising networks) that would set their own cookies on your device.

If you click on external links (e.g., our WhatsApp link or social media profiles), those third-party websites have their own cookie policies which are outside our control.

5. Managing Your Cookie Preferences

You can control cookies in several ways:

  • Our Cookie Banner — When you first visit our site, a consent banner allows you to Accept All, Reject Non-Essential, or Manage Preferences.
  • Browser Settings — Most browsers allow you to block or delete cookies via their settings (e.g., Chrome: Settings → Privacy → Cookies). Note that blocking strictly necessary cookies may break website functionality.
  • localStorage — You can clear our localStorage preferences via your browser's developer tools (Application → Local Storage → delete alidotronics-cookie-consent).

6. Your Rights

Under the Nigeria Data Protection Regulation (NDPR) and the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023, you have the right to withdraw your consent to non-essential cookies at any time. This will not affect the lawfulness of processing that occurred before withdrawal.

To exercise your rights or for any questions about our cookie practices, contact us at info@alidotronics.com.ng.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in technology or regulation. We will update the “Last Updated” date and, where changes are material, display a notice on our website.
